Kings XI Punjab’s skipper Ravichandran Ashwin has sparked a controversy after he pulled off ‘Mankading dismissal’ on Jos Buttler in yesterday’s match in IPL 2019.
Kings XI Punjab had posted a total of 184 last night against Rajasthan Royals. In reply, Jos Buttler did not take long to settle down & brought the game in RR’s favour single-handedly.
Rajasthan Royals found themselves in a comfortable position as they were 108-1 in 12.5 overs when Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin pulled off a crazy act.
As he was about to bowl the last delivery of the over, he saw RR’s Jos Buttler leaving the crease on the non-strike end. He took the bails out with the ball which is also known as ‘Mankading’.
The third-umpire had a look and gave Jos Buttler out. Jos Buttler was clearly angry with the decision. The dismissal turned out to be a huge event as Rajasthan Royals went from a winning position to a losing one. Rajasthan Royals lost the match by 14 runs.
The mankad dismissal erupted into a huge controversy on twitter and lots of big players joined the debate.
Legendary Aussie spinner Shane Warne also didn’t take long to join the debate and blasted at commentator Harsha Bhogle.
