Luka Modric won Ballon d’Or for the first time as FIFA Ballon d’Or 2018 award show was held past night. The 33-year-old Croatian midfielder had an unreal year (2018) as he won Champions League with Real Madrid and got Croatia to FIFA World Cup 2018 finals. He was voted ‘Player Of The Tournament’ in World Cup 2018.
Ronaldo was one position behind his ex-teammate Luka Modric while Barcelona’s Lionel Messi finished on the 5th spot.
‘As a kid we all have dreams. My dream was to play for a big club and win important trophies. Ballon d’Or was more than just a dream for me and it is really an honour and a privilege to hold this trophy’ said Luka Modric after winning the trophy.
