VIVO IPL 2018: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore preview

Match details:

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (Eden Gardens)
April 8, 2018 – 8pm

Match preview:

It’s a clash of two heavyweights and IPL fanboys cannot wait for this match. Kolkata Knight Riders will be facing Royal Challengers Bangalore in VIVO IPL 2018. Kolkata Knight Riders will miss the leadership of Gautam Gambhir this time around who led the franchisee to two titles in 2012 & 2014. Dinesh Karthik will spearhead KKR’s contingent this IPL. Royal Challengers Bangalore has done a tremendous job in auctions like always and they are the team to beat this IPL.

KKR’s team is built around Chris Lynn at the top of the order which might come back to haunt them and he has a trackrecord of getting injured as well. It will be interesting to see if Sunil Narine can show the magic with his bat once again. Mitchell Starc has already got injured & they have replaced him with Tom Curran.
On the other hand, RCB have a top bowling lineup in the form of Tim Southee, Yuzi Chahal & Washington Sundar. Nathan Coulter-Nile got injured and it came as a big blow to RCB. But they have a number of players who can shift gears when the team is in requirement.

Head-to-Head record:

Both teams have faced each other 18 times and both the teams have won 9 each.

Prediction:

Eden Gardens is no less than a fortress for KKR and the crowd will be buzzing. RCB is undoubtedly the team to beat this year as they have players in all 3 areas who are proven winners. However, the legend has it that RCB can under-perform on any given day. We are going with a RCB win in this one.
