Sohail Tanvir fined 15% of his match fee for giving an inappropriate send-off

Pakistan fast bowler Sohail Tanvir, who plays for Guyana Amazon Warriors in Carribean Premier League (CPL), was fined 15% of his match fee for an inappropriate send-off to Ben Cutting. Sohail Tanvir showed a double middle finger to Ben Cutting after the all-rounder got clean bowled in 17th over.

A moment of madness?

Aussie all-rounder Ben Cutting, who plays for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, had hit Tanvir for a six. What followed next was a moment of madness. Tanvir showed him double middle finger, however, Ben Cutting could not see it as his back was facing Tanvir.

After the incident, twitter erupted and Sohail Tanvir faced a lot of backlash for this obscene gesture.

Twitter user Taimoor Zaman called the incident an extremely poor display of sportsmanship.

Australian opener Chris Lynn termed the incident as ‘pathetic’.
