#OnThisDay Happy birthday, Gary Kirsten: World-class batsman and World Cup winner

There have been lots of players and coaches who have revolutionized Indian cricket in their own ways. Gary Kirsten’s revolution, Indian cricket team ex-coach, improved Indian cricket in leaps and bounds. He made India No. 1 in test cricket and left with a World Cup trophy to be remembered for ages.

Gary Kirsten brought a fresh air in Indian cricket and it was a much-needed one. In one of his interviews, MS Dhoni described Gary Kirsten’s appointment to be the ‘best thing that happened to Indian cricket’. During his playing days, he was a champion in batting.
